S2E2 is an Energy Innovation cluster which aims to favour competitiveness and stimulates collaboration between companies and laboratories in the form of R&D projects, whose spin-offs are growth drivers for these companies on the market. S2E2 gathers over a hundred members: companies, SMEs and groups, research and training organisations, all of them invested in the fields of intelligent electricity technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both platforms see a huge added value in a closer cooperation, most specifically in the domains of energy infrastructures, smart grids and the integration of renewable energies as well as electronic components, embedded systems and micro- and nanoelectronics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initial joint activity to bring together technical experts from both communities is a common workshop on SSI in Energy Applications titled \u201cPower of Smart Systems\u201d. <\/em>The aim of this event is to exchange knowledge between experts from both platforms and to spark ideas for innovations and new European R&D projects. Further organisational details will be announced later this year, depending on the development of the Covid-19 outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJoined efforts like common events or establishment of common projects, sharing know-how and information on respective Strategic Research Agendas will strengthen Europe\u00b4s Smart Systems Community in the fields of sustainable energy and infrastructure\u201d stated the Chairman of EPoSS, Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere is a real desire for the energy and Smart Systems communities to be more joined up when driving forward the innovation.\u00a0This agreement will help to achieve that on an European scale by strengthening and formalising the cooperation through concerted actions such as common R&D projects between EPoSS and S2E2 members\u201d , said Eric Beaujean, the Chairman of S2E2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
